National Institute Of Sowa Rigpa (NISR)
The OPD in the institute of Sowa-Rigpa has been running since the establishment of the institute itself. Since its inception, it has catered free medical service for more than one lac patients. On an average, it is treating more than 8000 patients a year who comes from all over Ladakh. Currently, it has two doctors (Amchi) looking after patients. All the patients who have visited are treated free of cost and there has been huge appreciation from all corner of Ladakh. The OPD is opened from 10 am to 5 pm every day, except on Sundays and other holidays. It has all the necessary medicines to provide a basic treatment to the patients.
In OPD section, there have been many success stories in treating patients who had gerd, migraine, neuro- muscular disorder, different types of arthritis, dermatological ailments, hemorrhoids and many other minor diseases. It has also managed to cure beginning stages of hypertension and diabetes. All the medicines provided are entirely based on herbal remedies accumulated through generations of knowledge. Our medicines are very effective in treatment of various illnesses with very minimal adverse effect.
